Stephanie has had enough with bond enforcement (and the people trying to kill her, as one from her past is out for revenge and she realizes there are so many possibilities she’s got no idea who it is) and tries her hand at what seems like every other option in the area. And of course, they all go badly. So, she does what any other woman torn between two men and yet is on again with one, she goes to work for the other.

I know there were several things yesterday I wanted to write down, but work was hectic, and I can’t quite think of the specifics, aside from Stephanie going cold turkey on jelly donuts/sweets in solidarity with her mother who has gone cold turkey from “tippling” using the whiskey kept in the pantry (in one book)/cabinet. And a side effect for Stephanie is an increased sex drive, in absence of all the sugar. You can’t make this shit up. I mean well, Janet did I guess lol, but you know what I mean. I’m not sure if I’ve told you all before, in the 12 books I’ve re-read so far this time and reviewed, but I love this series. And the characters. And I def think I’m team Joe this time around.

While a bit more focused on relationships and a tad less witty, still a fun escapist read. Who doesn't need a disaster-prone alter ego? Stephanie Plum is your woman!

First recorded reading was in October 7, 2009.

In this eleventh story in the Stephanie Plum series, Steph keeps threatening to quit her job with her cousin's bail bonds company, and she soon discovers how much worse it can be. It's too typical of Evanovich's humor with her newest boss…

"'…you must be careful not to make ethnic slurs.'

'Sure. You want to tell me the name of this country?'

'Latorran.'

'Never heard of it.'

'You see, already you are treading in very dangerous waters.'"

And it's leftover birthday cake. God, how I want one of my own! Although, if I have to think of Mama Macaroni and her mole, well, my appetite gets shot all to hell. As for Ranger, yep, that hottie has his priorities:

"'I just shot a guy in the foot,' I told him.

'Did he deserve it?'

'That's sort of a tough moral question. …'

'Did you destroy the evidence? Were there witnesses? Did you come up with a good lie?'

'Yes. No. Yes.'

'Move on,' Ranger said.'"

And this is the one in which Stephanie goes to work for Ranger…
