I liked this much more than the first one.. After what Teddy did to Shannon Darren comes back, and Joey is pissed... We don't get the full reason why Joey is so pissed at Darren (Hopefully we find out in Joey's book) but with him back Teddy is away from the house... Even though Teddy is gone for the time being it's almost like Shannon still is trapped because Marie and Darren try everything they can to keep Johnny away from Shannon.. The two of them were pissing me off with the whole he's too old for you (They were barley 2 years apart). I was happy when he finally put two and two together and figured out that it was Shannon's dad that was hurting her and did everything he could from his hospital bed help her... My heart was hurting for Joey having to take the weight of everything so I understand his beef with Darren a little... Shannon stood up for herself more in this one with her family and with Bella... We get more of Johnny's parents (Love them) I love his mom for calling Marie out for he BS trying to get Johnny locked up for being with Shannon... I glad Shannon didn't hesitate to call Johnny when Teddy showed up at the house and I glad he made it in time and got them out.. Even though Marie didn't like Johnny she knew he would save her kids and even helped him do.. The aftermath of that whole situation was heartbreaking especially for Joey.. But now Shannon and her siblings get a real chance at life without abuse..

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Emotional Damage, But Make It Worth It

I’ll be honest—book 1 (Binding 13) and I… did not get along. It was slow, frustrating, and a real test of my patience. This one? Keeping 13 still took a little time to find its rhythm, but once it did… oh, it broke me in the best (and sometimes worst) ways.

Certain moments hit so hard, I caught myself thinking, Wow… I have feelings? 🤭 The emotional depth here was richer, the stakes felt higher, and the characters—Shannon and Johnny especially—pulled me in more than I expected.

And while some pacing issues lingered, the payoff was there. The heartbreak, the growth, the way certain scenes just sat heavy in my chest—it all reminded me why readers get so attached to this series.

Now? I’m locked in. I need more of Joey Lynch, which means Saving 6 is up next. And honestly, I’m fully planning to see these characters’ stories through to the very end.

Final Verdict: A slow climb to emotional wreckage—and I’d do it again. 🖤

Genuinely one of the best fricking books I have ever read. Such an emotional roller coaster, I laughed, cried, and everything else in between. This book has such a beautiful storyline and an amazing group of characters. There were so many heartwarming moments, so many laughs (mostly with Gibsie’s crazy ass dialogue), and so many times where I wanted to throw the book across the room in a fit of rage. Johnny and Shannon’s story will have a special place in my heart from here on out. Chloe Walsh is a damn genius and I want to thank her for being so real.
