Hard to believe it started as a fan fiction for Twilight....

Christian Grey is unbelievable!

literal piece of garbage. author clearly did bare minimum research into BDSM and tried to pose it like the peak kinky literature of the modern age, when in reality it’s (literally) a fanfiction that went too far. total waste of time.

Ugh it took me forever to finish this book because I hated it so much.

But I’m not a quitter...

When the movies came out my husband and I watched them. We didn’t like them and didn’t understand the intense hype about it.

Years later I decided to try reading it because maybe the book was better and I would understand it better.

Nope. How many times is her breath going to hitch, do they do anything other then clamber out of things? Honestly she repeated so many words I just wanted to through a thesaurus at the book.

All the talk to her self conscious and inner goddess was really weird to many. I don’t understand why she is even attracted to this guy. She says it’s not his riches or his looks... but...

I don’t understand the hype at all

I'm glad I waited to read FSG until I was older -- Mainly because I was able to appreciate the story better. Despite what many think, this trilogy is not just about sex LOL

Anyways, I truly enjoyed these novels.

Dangerously sexy read. Romance has never been written like this before. The cliffhanger ending has basically forced me to read book #2.

Le style d'écriture est mauvais, les thèmes abordés sont mal représentés, les personnages sont creux et la fin est complètement en décalage. Je suis content d'en être venu à bout. (Ne le lisez pas)

Awful writing. Give this author a thesaurus.

Read this for a book club and it was about what I expected. It is fine for what it is - a romance that plays with the hard core sex world. This isn't about character development or about reality. Romance is its own genera because it has its own rules. Dominance and women being mindless when it is convenient and brilliant when it is convenient is all part of the deal. This book is fine for its genera, nothing special to deserve the popularity. That said I'm going to read them all.
