Sweet novella about Simon who impulse buys an old lighthouse, and Bruce, the previous caretaker of said lighthouse.
Great queer and mental health rep, Bruce is trans and bi (I believe), and Simon is gay and has bipolar disorder and severe ADHD

“I love you,” Simon says simply, like that’s all it is.
And maybe it is. Maybe it is that simple.
“I love you too,” Bruce answers, and it sounds a lot like, “stay.”
I received a digital copy of the book from a Storygraph giveaway and I’m really happy I did. Also, such a coincidence that I read this during the #transrightsreadathon week 🏳️⚧️
I adore stories about lighthouses. I adore stories with cats. And I absolutely adore stories set in cozy towns by the sea. And this book has all three! I really loved the characters, the gender and mental health representation, and the way the relationship between the characters flourished. I think the ending was perfect. I do wish it was a little longer though, so everything could really be elaborated. Nevertheless, I still really liked reading this and I wish to read more of this author’s works.

It was ok. Won it in a giveaway here for which I'm thankful. I liked the trans (and bi?) main character and the setting.
I know Bruce and Simon got together because Hallmark movie but the way it was framed by the rest of the town as Bruce'll make the foreigner give up on destroying the lighthouse" it's hilarious to me. Imagine there's a beefy guy out by the coast seducing every buyer into not touching the lighthouse, siren behavior.

Thank you to Olive J. Kelley and StoryGraph for a giveaway copy!
This was so sweet!! Once I started I had such a hard time putting it down. The characterization was beautiful. The way that the characters are described and seeing how they interact with the world was so enjoyable.
Both the trans and mental health representation was fantastic. I loved how natural both characters felt. They felt so real.
Overall the writing style was beautiful. Loved this little book so much.
