I loved this book much. It so beautifully discussed grief, loss, trauma, the foster care system, and other important topics. It was such an emotional story, and so well put together.

I absolutely loved this. Dinged half a star because some of it felt a touch preachy, but overall an excellent exploration of grief. Glasgow is amazing at really tapping into and acknowledging pain and offering hope that doesn't feel sugar-coated. Also, horses do help cure most things.

The writing style sounds like it truly is coming from a teenager (and I mean this in the best way, because it made it so much more realistic). This book was a beautiful story about grief and coping with the loss of a loved one. Several parts managed to hit home and had me sobbing.
