It is so college in November to create a guy out of stuff, if I created a person out of stuff, I would simply relax about it. Like, you were constructing a person out of stuff, and only thought about it when you were done? But also, that’s such male behavior, fatherhood is not considering the outcome but engaging in the process. If someone was telling me a story in which he briefly mentioned that he made a person out of stuff and then went on to talk extensively about their friends and family I’d start ripping up the floorboards. I am with Frank Jr. His father is without thought, it seems. I feel very little for him and very much for Frank Jr. despite the murders. Crazy that Frank Jr. Is better at communication than his daddy, but I guess we all seek to become the opposites of our fathers. It was terribly slow until the monster parts. There fails to be discussion about the process of making a guy out of stuff, like, come on Mary, invent something. But the writing about emotion and what it means to be human and the dynamic makes up for it, it’s good, genuinely. All of these events could have been completely avoided. Your early twenties are crazy.

I fell asleep so many times throughout this book, but I made it through & I loved the writing & the ending. I guess I'm just not a Classics girlie...but I'm willing to keep trying.

AHHH I LOVE I LOVE!!!

First ever sci fi book and it’s written by a woman!

I love the characterisation of the monster, he yearns for human life, he wants to be able to love and live a normal life but he cannot and he hates his creator, Frankenstein for doing this to him. The monster is angry and violent but it isn’t his fault, he was made this way.

I also love the depressed Frankenstein because his feelings have been passed over to the monster and it is almost a part of him, always on his tail. Human and monster are not so different after all!

I love the story, I love the characters, I love the writing! One of my favourite books

Also, all these men are shitting on Shelley not knowing how to write a man, have you read any books with woman written by men? It is a million times worse!!

All media that I have watched or heard of about Frankenstein did not prepare me for listening to the audiobook. There are many more layers to the book than other media and it makes for a very different feeling about Frankenstein and his monster.

A brilliant example of Victorian Gothic literature, although slow, as many of the classics are want to be, Frankenstein full heartfelt merits your attention. Mary Shelley creates fanciful and thoughtful narrative quite beyond her years as is proven by our continued and renewed interest  over the centuries.
