Short, easy and lovable book that is the literary definition of escaping into another world. I‘ve watched the movies beforehand which started pretty pleasantly but became kinda dull in the end (the third one with the ship). On the contrary, I am pleasantly surprised by the prelude of this series. This book was especially helpful to understand the world building and cute little details like the lantern and the wardrobe. Furthermore, I adore the little drawings inside to illustrate the story. All in all, this book is simply written for it’s a children’s book/series (it lacks some kind of character and plot depth), yet highly enjoyable. I am looking forward to read the following books and again escape into this magical world called Narnia.

Ps: thank you to my lovely friend Paula for lending me her boxed set of the Chronicles of Narnia <3

This is my first reread of the Chronicles of Narnia since 6th grade. They're so much more wonderful now! It's an excellent story (and of course it's brilliantly written), but what I enjoy most is how much this book has made me think about God. Not because Lewis is on level with Scripture, but he understood God's character and God's world so well. Reading this book caused me to think more about Scripture and delight more in the character of Jesus. Win!
