I’m not a fandom girlie myself, but the way she wrote that world? It felt so real—I could see the K-pop-stan energy.
Amelia’s friend group had my whole heart, and while I might have aged out of YA a bit, Becky’s way of describing feelings always hits so hard. Honest, funny, and quietly emotional in all the right places.

Honestly probably my least favorite book I've read by Becky Albertalli, but not bad by any means (I just really love the others I've read). A cute getting together story, but kind of slow burn in the way that it takes Amelia almost the entire book to figure out her love life. The parasocial aspect was interesting, and if it wasn't heavily inspired by Dan and Phil in the like 2012-2015 era I would actually be very shocked. Overall an enjoyable read, but probably not the first one I'd recommend to someone.
