Well, this was awful... Like the romance was icky asffff.

The characters were so bad.


How's this celaena an assassin (the best, in fact) if she can't do tasks I bet I can exceed at! She lacks common sense.

Like this was not it-

It was so boring. And if u ask me what happened I'll tell, "something about comebacks that don't make sense, and Dorian."

And yall said THIS was good. I've been lied to. I need a money refund NOW!

It was tough to start and stay interested at first, but halfway through I started to get invested in the characters and story. I know a bunch of spoilers to the series because of how long it's been out and well loved, so sitting through some of the beginning stuff feels tedious. But that's no fault of the book so I won't knock any stars for it. I'm excited to continue the journey and learn why this series and MC are so loved.

I had low expectations but I very much enjoyed this book! I won’t be rereading as it is a bit shallow but the world was fun and the pacing was good

This book was super easy to read and very fast paced and entertaining. It is obviously written for a specific target audience and it does it well. It’s what you’d get if you cross a more YA-version of Mistborn with Hunger Games, with a tiny bit more romance than is in either of those. The main characters were great and the mythology/magic and creatures in it were interesting. I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to continuing the series.
