I told myself I was not going to fall down this rabbit hole. But here I am burrowing away. I finished book 2 in a day, will be starting book 3 and possible 4 in the next 24 hours. What have you done to me??

I was expecting better of this story, and even though I liked it a lot I wanted to smack Mary (at the very least) for most of the book. I understood why she was doing that and even kind of sympathized a little, but what she kept doing to Rhage's feelings even when he kept doing stuff to show he was for real drove me insane. Rhage I'm definitely in love with...

The four stars I give to this book have nothing to do with the quality of writing, the amazing love shared between the protagonists, the artistic prose or the wonderful world set up.
This is because there isnt any.

Oh no, my four star review is because this book is so damn entertaining.
Come on, you can read Tolstoy or whatever, fine. I do. Or will. No problems, thing you need to do one day. But are you REALLY entertained? Are you REALLY enjoying it? Im my opinion, probably not. If you need a dictionary to read the book coherantly, again, I say you are not entirely enjoying the whole shebang. You feel stupid, you look stupid, and you're never going to use the word in your entire existance, so why bother.
Words like..... Bacchanalian. In my opinion, probably the best word ever invented. But if you say it, people look at you like you're talking Swedish, or saying supercalafragalisticexpialadocious. Also, you sound precocious, so perhaps it's more the latter. Anyway, I digress.

This book is STUPID! Absolutely, indescribably STUPID. The sex, the dialogue, the plotline, the pop cultre references, STUPID. I like stupid. Stupid is funny. Stupid is entertaining. We dont have Jackass in the world for nothing, do we? No. Its because we, as human beings, 'get off' on stupid, so to speak.
I casually flip now to page... ohh. lets say... page 139. I see a sex scene. Kind of. Not actually sex. But hey, umbrella term. It's not meant to be funny, but the dialogue... Oh the dialogue. Oh the humanity!

Why do I fry my brain cells reading this shit? It is shit. People stare at you if you read it in public. You see their little piggy eyes judge you. They do. Hell, if I didnt read the series also, I would too. I fry my brain cells because it's funny. And it's escapist. And it's entertaining. It is absolute, funny, entertaining shit. And the sex is quantity, not quality. I dont care. As long as there is some plot between sex scenes, I dont care. (I'm looking at you, Paullina Simons!!)
The protagonist, Mary, annoys the shit out of me. Rhage is sweet, but also slightly annoying, but sweet. I dont like the sections for the 'lessers', but skim read, that's fine.

In short? Go on, I dare you.

The thing is, while reading this book, I keep wanting to read Zsadist's part. And John's. Seriously.

I loved how Rhage's handle himself. He's such a a good guy under those Hollywood cover. I just wish the beast side of him could come out more often. Don't e just love it when he goes all wooof but then become pretty much meek in Mary's hand? Yeah..

I think it really is J. R. Ward's style, to leave more riddle to solve in the next book and not really solve it so we have to jump to the next book right away. Good move, lady.

LET'S GO TO ZSADIST'S STORY, GUUURL!

Ahhhhhhh this was so good!!!!!! I love rhage and Mary so much and this book was everything I wanted and more. The plot got even more intricate than the first book and I loved getting to see all the plot overlap between the other characters (I’m looking at you Zsadist and Bella). This series has me hooked and I’m not even sorry about it.

Sooooo good!!!!

5 stars

Rhage is one of my favorite characters, I am in absolute love with him. The way Mary can tame his inner beast is breath taking. I am completely in love with this world the author has created.
