When the original book is one of your favourites, the idea of a sequel is always a little daunting; will the characters still be as relatable as they were on the first read through of the original? Will it change the way you feel about the first book? Will you like it?

Thankfully, I needn't have worried about any of the above.

Postscript is a perfect sequel to P.S I Love You. It's beautifully written, hits the right notes of emotion and keeps faithfully true to the characters who were so strikingly portrayed and bought to life in the previous book.

It's tale of life after loss, of staying true to yourself and of hope even in the face of sadness. It's about friendship, it's about making a difference and it's about love.

A brilliant read and highly recommended.

PS, I Love You's long awaited sequel by bestselling author, Cecilia Ahern, will not disappoint readers who were first charmed by Jerry's letters of love from beyond the grave nearly two decades ago. Set seven years after the death of her husband, Jerry; Holly has made a pretty good effort at "moving on." When her sister bullies her into recounting her "PS, I Love You" letters on a podcast, Holly is floored at the response. Her story has really resonated with people. Terminally ill strangers are reaching out, wanting her help as they navigate how to leave behind meaningful messages to their loved ones. Holly swore she left that life of illness and death behind, but she begins to see the larger picture and the impact that she could help these people leave behind. Beautifully narrated by Amy Huberman who deftly navigates between Holly's humorous, heartfelt, and introspective moods. Cecilia Ahern shines beauty, dignity, and humility onto a wonderful new cast of characters. A wonderful followup that will have readers once again crying, but loving every minute of it.

After PS. I love you I was unsure how this story would unfold but it was just as captivating. Its a love story, yes, but it takes different sides of love and displays the many forms we encounter in life. Following the narratives of all the characters was an adventure, sometimes heart breaking but also beautiful.

Postscript

Postscript by Cecelia Ahern is the awaited sequel to the very popular book: P.S. I love you! Seven years have passed since Holly Kennedy’s husband has passed away. She has a new man in her life, she is helping her sister with her business and she has forged a new life as recommended by Gerry in his letters. But when she thinks that she has moved on, she meets a group of people who started a club called P.S. I love you Club. They are all terminally ill and, just like Gerry, they want to leave their family a memento that will encourage them to move on. Holly is reluctant to help them and everyone around her are afraid that she will be hurt by this endeavor. After a bit of soul searching, Holly decides to help them and embarks of a journey of healing and self-discovery.

This is a wonderful book. I was so touched by the subject. It reminded me that I also need to leave something meaningful to my love ones. If you have read P.S. I love you, I encourage you to get this book and discover how love never dies.

Oh my gosh! I've cried buckets while reading this book...buckets!

It will tale me a while to process all of it, but 2 characters have definitely made an espectacular impact, Ginika, I definitely lost it when her time came, and the last guy, the Gerry's doppelganger...what was that about? Does it mean there is more to come, does it mean Cecelia has a twisted sense of humor?

Anyway, can barely say anything apart from the fact that I cried and cried and then cried some more.

P.S. see you later?
