I think I would have appreciated the book a lot more if the prologue didn’t give away the ending, that being said it was still okay and I obviously have to know what happens in the next one!

Okay, i gotta say I was surprisingly pleased. I started this book thinking I was even going to dnf this, but it got much better.
The writing is not the best, it reminds me kinda when I read Wattpad books, but it was passable.
The end had me in absolute shackles. It was humiliating, heart shattering and infuriating.
Definitely will check the next book.

Can we just stop for a second and acknowledge how incredible this book is(was) hangover ... but wow won’t give story away this is a must read with a bully theme but is a suck you in from page one and just keeps getting better and better .... usually I would want to write more about the book but this book put tears in my eyes at the end and now I’m seeking revenge so NEED to start book 2 right now!!!!
I swear this kinda read is my guilty pleasure. I’m an addict.
These boys are horrid entitled arseholes. But I cannot wait for Marnye’s revenge.

Holy fuck! That was not the ending I was expecting. On to the second book.

Meh. Unoriginal plot, it's predictable, and the epilogue gave away the ending. It has gullible FMC and an instant best friend (in general I’m not a fan of this, it’s unrealistic and not believable). I might read the next book just too see if the FMC would somehow have her revenge.
These boys need to make some miracles happen to redeem themselves. Effing losers
Heroine was okay for a 15yo, not a doormat and that's rare

The first thing to note about this book is that it's the first of a four book series. Marnye Reed has earned a scholarship to the Burberry Prep school which seems to be somewhere in California. From the start, it's the goal of the Idols to make her leave. It's that old trope of the scholarship student amongst the rich kids and things don't go well. Marnye does have a friendship with the twin sister of one idol and with another guy from the elite group. Apparently anyone outside these areas is considered a pleb. But Marnye is supposed to be even lower, often called Charity or Working Girl. Of course the guys are good looking and she loses objectivity quite often. So she ends up being fooled many times through the story. This book covers just the first year so I guess it will be dragged out over four years of schooling.
At first I didn't think too badly of this but upon further reflection, it feels like a pretty shallow story. There doesn't seem to be any character development and I can't help wondering if that will change in the next books, at least until the last of the series. The prologue seems fairly pointless and is repeated exactly in a later chapter. It kind of spoils the story in some ways.
I'm kind of curious where the story goes for the second volume but I may lose enough interest to skip it once it's released. Anyway, I would rate this 2.5 stars.

Marnye was so dumb that I actually was rooting for the boys. How do you not suspect anything when the people who have been ruthlessly bullying you switch to wooing you? Also, the prologue ruined what suspense should have been built up since I basically knew the ending. But overall, it was a pretty fun read. It’s so trashy that it’s good.
