I really enjoyed reading this book. Oh, i didn't really feels enjoy, it was very sad and heartbreaking.
This book tried to potrays how difficult it is to be a woman. Being in the middle of war and a high patriarchal culture, women in this book are cornered as if they are not an important part of this life. Their lives are restrained, limited, and they never get freedom. This book also made me think that religion will be very bad in the hands of bastards who think they are the most holy people in the world.
From beginning to end, it feels like nothing good comes to Mariam and Laila (and Aziza). And the more I open the page, the more I want to punch Rasheed, that crazy bastard, i hate him so much.
This book are absolutely 5 stars rated. And i think that everyone should read this book at least once in a lifetime.

Heart-breaking, gut-wrenching, sobering. A devastating story that is thoughtfully and beautifully written. I'm forever changed by this book.
