This was just such a fun read and I loved both Adara and Elaric and I am curious what his backstory is like even though I hoped it would be explained in this book. GIVE ME THE NEXT BOOK PLEASE!!!

First of all, I would like to thank Holly Rose for providing me with an eARC of this book!
In this book, the "Beauty and the Beast" trope comes to the table, with Adara going to the Winter King's Midsummer Ball. An annual ball where Adara's sister was stolen three years ago. With Adara full of hatred in her heart, we dive into a page-turning, wintry world.
Bride of the Winter King surprised me a lot! Since it's a shorter book, I was expecting the story or world-building to be rushed, and I was glad to find that was not the case at all. I really liked Adara as a character, she is a strong-willed and smart heroine who has only one goal in mind, and you are reminded of that often enough to understand her determination. This was an important point for me because even after everything that happens and all the emotions she goes through (which made her even more realistic and human), she remains level-headed and sticks to her convictions.
On the other hand, we have the Winter King. He is the reason I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5! Now, I do not mean that in a bad way... It's just that I felt like I could have used a little more introduction to his story or personality so I could relate to him a little more. I know he's supposed to be mysterious, and that's fine, but to make the ending (which was so good!) feel more powerful, I would have liked to know a bit more about him. I still found him quite amusing and interesting though, so I am betting everything on the sequel to make his character development perfect!
All in all, I really recommend this book if you are into slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers fantasy romance, as it delivers on every aspect of it! Also, the world-building is good and the pacing is fantastic. You are always excited to see what happens next, and there's always something to keep you interested from beginning to end.
I can not wait to read the second and final book and see how the story develops and how Adara and the Winter King grow! Definitely keep an eye out for Bride of the Winter King - Coming out December 6th! ♡
