Ok so, normally I’m a fan of Jenika’s books but this was pissed me off.
He treats her like a whore for two weeks, says some absolutely horrendous things to her, then when he decides he wants her back…there was zero groveling to be had.
Now don’t get me wrong, his mouth spoke filthy words and the sex was hot af.
But the lack of groveling on his part and lack of fight on hers in taking him back so quickly was a no for me.

I only started reading Jenika's books just over a year ago and each book I have read just gets better and better.

This starts with Liliana visiting Matteo to see if there is away she can help clear the debt her father and brother owe him.

He refuses her offer as he finds it hard to believe she would be willing to offer herself up for people who willingly use her and abuse her.

After she leaves, he has her father and brother bought to him. Let the ualiving begin.

Matteo then decides he wants her and his obsession with Liliana begins.

It is not long before Liliana gives in to Matteo - all I will say is the table scene with his cake.

Jenika certainly knows how to write a mafia romance which I love as this is fast becoming a favourite genre of mine.

QUOTE
"Liliana dolce e vulnerable. Non voglio ucciderti." Sweet vulnerable Liliana. I don't want to kill you. His smile was slow and big, and it terrified me. "Voglio farti mia." I want to make you mine.

ARC Review:

Ever since I started reading Jenika each book gets better and better. These characters definitely belong to one another. The villain gets the girl is a great quote to put as the cover because it's true. He kills for her and protects her and watches her closely. She fought him for awhile and put herself down and he taught her to not do that. It's spicy and oh so good!

Another great possessive man

Jenika Snow writes possessive men so good. The mmc was dark and took what he want. The female character started to play hard to get, which bugged me until I realized it was their kink.

* Age Gap
* Obsessive/Possessive mmc
* Mafia Boss

Dark, spicy and BRILLIANT!!!

4.7/5 STARS
4/5 SPICE

Tropes:
- Forced proximity by blackma!l/kidnapping
- Mafia romance
- Touch her and d!e (literally)
- Age gap (15 years)
- Insta-attraction
- Hates that she wants him
- Arrogant, protective, obsessive MMC
- He falls first and HARD
- V!rgin FMC
- Villain gets the girl

Firstly, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU again Jenika Snow for this ARC!!

I. LOVED. IT.

This was such a good dark, gritty yet quick and easy mafia romance that thrusts you straight into an intense plot and then smacks you across the face with mouth-watering spice, while making you question your morals in the BEST way!!

Liliana (FMC) was a fearful girl, desperately fighting for herself to get away from her horrible dad and brother, and Matteo (MMC) was there to get her out of trouble and unal!ve everyone who was hurting her but he was by no means her hero.
He was the villain - IS the villain, and Liliana (and me lol) learnt to love and accept him as he was...

NOT that Matteo made it the easiest of rides. He was arrogant and too knowing for his own good and like Liliana, you want to hate him but you just can't!! It's completely understandable why she finds herself and her freedom with him and I LOVED it!!

My only wish was for one: the book to be longer!! And two: Matteo was an idiot at the end even though it was clear why he was doing it and I wished Liliana had been stronger and made him work for her that bit more.
She made it too easy for him and I needed that fight from her like at the beginning.

Otherwise...Jenika Snow you are my author crush!!
