Better than the first one, but still very slow-paced and long

Super conflicted on this one. TA6 had its issues but overall I ended up really enjoying it and loving all the POVs. TAP on the other hand was super slow and for the first half it felt like nothing was happening. I also was really interested in some plotlines (the Libby stuff and the dream stuff was really cool. I also loved Nico and Tristan trying to find her) and other plotlines just didn't grab me (Callum's depression arc and whatever was going on with Reina's god complex. I previously lamented not having enough Reina in the first book but this isn't what I meant). The second half was where the book peaked for me and it was definitely worth it to push to the end there, but it definitely suffered from second book syndrome.

3.5 | Starting off the year with a book that really suffered from the sophomore slump. I still want to see how the series wraps up with book 3, but this second installment seemed to lack cohesion and a strong story arc.
(Biiiig fan of that last scene though <3)

better than the first book in my opinion - the book felt more grounded and also there was a bit less physics/philosophical stuff to wrap my head around. I liked finally getting to know some of the mysteries and the characters continue to be intriguing.

This was an intense follow up to book 1. I love these complex characters. I can't wait to see how it ends!

I just couldn’t keep dealing with the manipulative people being upset that they were being manipulated. Could not stand Paris’s and callum. They ruined the entire story for me and I can’t even bring myself to slog through the third one to maybe see a good story.
