This book is the first in the Wolf Bound Series (Magic Side) and I am OBSESSED. This is also Veronica Douglas first solo work and guys it’s probably their best book yet. In my opinion it definitely has a more adult enemies-to-lovers/emotionally charged feel to it then The Dragon Gift series they did. I am loving it. Absolutely loving it. The chemistry and tension between Savannah and Jaxon is off the charts and I am hopefully for a little more action on that front soon but the emotions guys that’s where the hit it out of the park. I felt all the things Savannah was feeling here. They treated her so unfairly for her learning about the magically world…. 3 DAYS AGO….. I have major reservations about his pack for that. Overall this book is excellent and I cannot wait for book 2 and you most definitely need it in your life. (No cliffhanger)

Loved it

Although this book is set in the magic world created by Linsey Hall, it has its own flair. This book is slightly darker with a very thrilling undertone. Oh, and don’t forget sexual tension. I can’t wait for book 2.

This is such a fun and intricate shifter/witch/fantasy romance. I am so glad this popped up on my KU recs. It is definitely a slow burn so buckle up for that. I have a few theories for what Savannah really is... so we will see if I am right.

I can't wait to see what happens in book 2.

I largely enjoyed this, but thought it was a little unfocused; depending on the back and forwards between Sav and Jax to carry the tension. But I just felt a little whip-lashed between their supposed attraction and overt dislike of one another. I didn't particularly feel their chemistry. But I liked them both. I liked how independent Sav was and how willing she was to go out on her own. And I liked that Jax was legitimately trying to protect his people and Sav, even if he wanted to strangle her too. I also thought Casey was hilarious and appreciated the abundance of strong female pack members, especially since jealousy over male attention wasn't included as a plot device.

The book is set in a world created and opened by another author, Linsey Hall apparently. I suppose that makes this a spin-off of a sort and you feel it. Certainly, the death of Jax's sister felt like it is the plot of another book somewhere. I don't know if it is, mind you, but it feels like it is. The book is perfectly readable though, just kind of has that spin-off feel.

I found the villain easy to guess and the mystery around Sav is fairly obvious, even if we're not technically told what it is here in this book. Plus, there's some annoying repetition in the writing, All in all though, I had fun and will happily read another book in the Magic Side: Wolf Bound series.

2.5!! This whole book felt like a filler. The plot had so much potential but nothing was delivered.

So much fun!

I hand a lot of fun with this first book! It’s spooky season and I was looking for some new paranormal romance. This first book is a slow burn but I loved getting to know Savannah and Jaxson. I can’t wait to read the next one!
