the fact that Lucy and Lockwood did not kiss once in this entire series has to be a crime!!!!!!!!
my lord, what a great ending to the entire series. and I'm very glad that all the mystery aspects had a satisfying explanation, which weren't rushed. Overall, the "looking for immortality" trope has been done in a lot of fiction, but let's be honest, it makes a lot of sense. (if there was such a thing, we, humans, wouldn't stop at petty crime or killing thousands to evade death).
All in all, I personally really, really loved this book series, its characters and the dystopian London Stroud has created.

I found the finale a little disappointing to be honest. Not all my questions were answered and things are hinted at, but no further explanation given
such as Lucy says she's been back to the Other Side. Who is Ezekiel? Why is he so loyal to Fittes? Why do Type 3s exist? What is Skull's name and who is he?
and there is an arguable plot hole
Marissa is not surprised to see Skull and sticks him in a jar to forget about him, but only two Type 3s are ever referred to. Would see really forget about one of just two spirits that she can talk to? Also, why was there no rebellion when the 'old codgers' realised that they were getting older being on the Other Side? Surely they feel they've been deceived?
I also don't exactly understand the aversion to properly romantic moments between the leads. OK, this is a 'children's book', but we have rotting corpses everywhere, a cannibal's house, but kissing, God forbid! And btw:
why is a library named after Lockwood, not Lucy or anyone else for that matter?
I should also mention that the fat-shaming of George is, like the other books, a running gag and contrasts with Lockwood's handsome elegance. I was sad to be nearing the end of the series, but now I'm ready to move on.

A perfect end to a perfectly written series. Seriously, fully fleshed out characters who are relatable and dynamic with depth and heart, scary ghosts, horrible villains, and just the faintest whiff of romance. What is not to love about this book and series?
