I like the author but I'm not sure a sequel was needed. I felt like it lacked some of the connection I had with the first book. I didn't get to really know the characters and didn't feel invested in the story. I'm sure I'm in the minority though.

This book was just as fantastic as the first one, I'm so so surprised by how much I enjoyed these books! I totally expected my favourite V.E. Schwab series would be the ADSOM series because that genre is right up my ally. But damn, while I did really like that series - this series is SO DAMN COOL!

The writing is beautiful and atmospheric, that characters are super cool and each has super distinct voices and though none of them can be considered 'good' they're all fascinating to read about and you still find yourself rooting for certian people! The tackling of issues like morality and the micro-aggressions women face and they are fantastically executed!

The strength of these books is insane and I would love to one day see this story told in a movie one day.

Victoria is a goddess among women and we should all worship the ground she walks on.
