Ah I wanted to like this one. I just think that the things that I loved were much better explored in her nonfiction books. Female friendships, moving into different stages of life, family, love and relationships. I just think that this one fell a bit flat having read her memoir and how heartbreaking and real they are. This just felt like a carbon copy of those. There weren’t really any moments that were standout, and looking back three weeks after finishing it its kind of forgettable.

Great writing but ultimately not a book for me. I would still recommend it however, as the themes are resonant and , as I said, it is very well written.
