This is an English teacher's dream. I never annotate books, but this one made me want to go back and highlight things. Sometimes I even gasped out loud over a quote.

The strength of this book lies in the symbolism, depth and meaning.

A fireman who starts fires. An empty wife whose family lives in a television scene. Books being replaced with TVs, instant gratification and advertisements. People who only ever drive at top speeds, implying that there is no space for reflection.

I think it describes modern society incredibly well.

The book loses a point because of it's plot. It was a little bit ... boring? Also, there are legitimately 1000 + metaphors/similes in the 200 page book (hence the English teacher's dream) and while all of them are wonderful, it makes for slow reading. Sometimes I didn't have the energy to sit and figure each one out. (I, like the society in this book also enjoy driving at top speeds
