a hug of a book. surprisingly emotional and heart-warming, with endearing moments of wordplay and giggles. the whole story exhales love and presence. i was expecting a simple, brain-off read, but got something rather profound in such a cute lil package. this also is hitting harder as i’m actively grieving the loss of my beloved elderly cat. i’m glad i picked it up right now; i doubt it would’ve resonated as hard during another time.

“look. life is bad. everyones sad. we’re all gona die. but i alredy bought this inflatable boumcy castle so are u gona take ur shoes off or wat”

i was smiling the entire time. this book made me laugh out loud, made me say "aw" out loud, & made me think about life deeper than I ever would've thought from a book that looks this simple and fun. i learned a lot from such few words. amazing.

Un roman graphique mignon, avec ce genre de petits messages qu'on a besoin d'entendre une fois de temps en temps, histoire de se sentir mieux.

This little oddity shows us what it means to be human, as seen through the eyes of an aliebn experiencing our world for the first time. It made me laugh out loud but was also very sweet and sometimes sad. A strange and lovely little book that defies description.

Before I start: I’ve read this book at the best possible moment for this book. I wasn’t feeling so well and I really needed something like this. It helped me to feel better; after I read this, I felt refreshed. So yeah, maybe I would have rated this different if I had read it any other moment – but I didn’t.

This graphic novel follows the story of an alien, Jomny, who comes to earth to study humans, but in fact studies any other creature except for humans. Jomny doesn’t realize this himself and he is sure that he has befriended humans.

The plot is really simple, but sometimes things just don’t need to be difficult. The characters in this were amazing; I could really relate to some of them: especially the hedgehog that wanted to create art – I’m an aspiring writer, so yeah. The snail also really got to my heart. And sometimes all you need is nothing :’)

What made this little comic so good, for me, were the quotes. Some of them were deep, some of them didn’t really make sense and others were funny as hell – never will I stop laughing with nothing jokes. On the other hand, the messages this book gave, were very strong. My personal favorites were the ones of the being and the becoming – the now and the future.

I cried and I laughed and when a book can do that, it just deserves a special place in my heart. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Though I think I liked most of this graphic novel, it felt weirdly like The Little Prince, which made it stand out not in a good way because… it’s not The Little Prince?

A lot of the “statements” were just dropped out of nowhere to try to make the reader go into this deep existencial crisis which sadly didn’t work but hey! at least it was cute.

2. A book with one of the 5 W's in the title (Who, What, Where, When, Why)
