Well…not my favorite. While the use of magic and memory loss was well put together, I just found much of it too complicated and painful to read.

I have finally finished this epic-romance-fantasy series. Between the 6 books, each clocking in at 600+ pages, I've probably read 3600 pages of Jacqueline Carey in the past year and a half. This was the first book in the series where a major wild plot twist made me say, "Wait a second..." (which says a lot for my ability to suspend disbelief...) I'm actually kind of glad the series is over; now I just have to find some other trashy business to fit into my reading rotation...

Sadly I didn't enjoy this, nor the main conflict. Imriel and Sidonie romance was duller than before, the only part I liked was the one involving Melisande. L'Envers was the true MVP in this book.
