Not controversial, but after reading this at school I can comfortably say I prefer Marlowe to Shakespeare. Marlowe literally dances with the dark arts in this riveting play - I mean Faustus has to decide whether he's the kind of guy to make a deal with the devil! There are actual demons in this! Oh and comic relief (It's an Elizabethan play of course there is!) what's not to find charming?!

Knockoff Shakespeare (please ignore my ignorance)

It's a short play with an interesting plot - the most important parts are the beginning and the end, didn't feel like acts three and four contributed much to the overall plot really.

Good but, err, confusing. This was Not for leisure and i'm not sure if I'll re-read it outside of necessity for my course.

Great play, and very useful translation of renaissance english.

Oy. That was a hard read.
