Enjoyed reading this until about the last 40 pages. The ending was a bit rushed compared to the rest of the book.

This fucking book. If we put aside all the shit in it that made me melt because WOWZA, it was absolutely hilarious and had me in full on hysterical tears. I won’t spoil it but dear god it’s worth the read.
The plot - i’m smiling as I write this because I’m still thinking of that damn camping scene (IYKYK). God it was hilarious. Okay so we have smut which is a 3/5 on the spice scale, a TON of angst, miscommunication, forbidden romance, workplace romance, enemies to lovers, it is a HEA, and oh my goodness what a fucking book. The plot was slow enough that I could get to know the characters but not so long that it dragged out.
The MC - I love Emily so so much. She’s a firecracker, a badass with a temper and a bitchy side. You don’t see that often in books but Ms. Emily is one of a kind. I loved her vulnerability, her strength and just everything about her.
The male counterpart - you know, even in the shitty parts where Jameson/Jim/Jay is being a dick (what kinda names are the first two anyway??), i still liked him. Definitely a good book boyfriend and he was responsible for my laughter throughout this book. Love love loved him.

I tried. I really tried. Wanted to DNF after 2 chapters but powered through to Ch13, and I just Could Not anymore. The characters are toxic and vapid and sorely unrelatable (by me) so I wasn’t able to give a fluff about them.

DNF at 35%, don’t read if you want the FMC to have self respect. The back and forth is boring and plays like a middle school drama. There’s no substance to this book so far and 35% in is far enough that there should be something more than the same repeated scene.

I’m not sure it’s a spoiler to say this guy is a real asshole and any right-minded woman should run.

3 stars, 3 spice
An overall okay story. Pretty much instant love, and a bit predictable Billionaire romance. I ate it up because of the DRAMA, so much drama. We have a bit of a miscommunication trope which kills me. And the spice... it was a bit disappointing. Though frequent, the scenes were a bit *to the point* and didn't incorporate things that most women actually need to get there.
This is the first book I have found on KU that also offered the audio, and that was super nice.
I am continuing the series because I have heard they get better and Tristan's book is next and I really liked Tristan in this book, he seemed sweet and level headed LOL
