I feel like this book bought be out of my reading slump! Just love this author, she always just manages to write exactly what I love to read! Lagos… the big brute of a man, just worked so perfectly with Dahlia! Was nervous for Tomas’ character, bit of a creep so glad he fucked off 🫠

What to Expect
- Grumpy | Sunshine
- Size difference
- Touch her and 🔪
- He is obsessed with her
- Dystopian

I usually do not read and/or enjoy dystopian books, even if they are dystopian romances. However, Nicci does an incredible job building this world and providing glimpses of hope to hold on to, even in moments of despair. This is books 2 in The Cradled Common series, both books in the series were presented in a way that played out as a movie in my mind. I do understand not everyone can picture what they read, but Nicci is descriptivo e in her writing that it still paints what I believe to be a vivid picture for the reader. I would recommend reading the series in order, even though Born for Silk’s characters and storyline did not play a huge part in Born for Lace, I have a feeling things will tie in to each other later on in the series.

Currently there are side books planned for the series.

I recommend this for someone looking for a gritty, raw, action packed read with dark elements

Review:
This plot felt to have less structure than Born For Silk, but I got more of the masculine, 'alpha' energy from Lagos that I was missing from the first book.
I wasn't a fan of the baby being present for the entire story, but if I would have bothered to read the synopsis, then I probably would have known about it. Oh well.
The ending left me wanting more, it just felt too easy, nothing was earned.
