I really enjoyed this book. Its a bit repetitive, but in a very calming and relaxing way.

This felt a lot like We’ll Prescribe You a Cat, except instead of cats, it’s food that heals people. I loved the idea of the detectives recreating dishes tied to someone’s most precious memories. It really shows how powerful food can be in connecting us to people and moments we’ve lost. Some of the stories were sweet and nostalgic, and I could imagine how comforting it would be to taste something that brings back a part of your past.
But honestly, the pacing was pretty slow, and since I’m not super familiar with Japanese cuisine, some of the dishes were hard to picture. I also wished it dug deeper into the characters’ emotions. It kind of skimmed the surface, which made the stories feel less impactful.
Still, it was a nice, light read. If you like slice-of-life stories that are cozy and reflective, this could be your thing.
