I didn't mind this style of book! I actually had no idea what the book was about and took me 2 chapters to fully get it, haha.
Some books are plot driven, this is perhaps more character driven. There is no major plot development as each chapter is sort of a short story with new 'clients' in search of their dish that they're hoping to recreate/ find.
Overall on the slower, gentler & subtle side of books.
Spoiler: I thought, from the cover that the cat was
going to be a bigger character. It was not.

a cozy book. it’s not a mystery book per say. it’s very digestible in the way that you see none of the investigation happening. you get the clues and then by the next chapter everything is explained.
