A fun, quick, light-hearted read with an interesting premise. I've taken a liking to these cozy Japanese books made up of short stories and this scratched that itch, though this is definitely not my favourite of that genre I've read. I do wish the stories were slightly longer or more detailed but they work perfectly well as is.

Really clever book, love how the characters are all interlinked, great references to Japanese culture throughout - a great calming book !

Lacks anything like plot and character development. Certainly there is no conflict. At first I thought the formality of Japanese discourse was masking it, but it is not there. If you understand Japanese food or know the layout of Kyoto it might be interesting. To me it was just very flat.

I couldn't get into this as well as I would have liked. A father-daughter team uses their sleuthing mixed with cooking to solve the mysteries of foods people have loved and lost. DNF
