my full review is finally here ✨

tori bullied me into reading this, and when I say bullied, she told me to, and I downloaded it 2 minutes later LOL. I'm honestly so glad I chose to read it though.

Leo (heathen) and Darby (honeysuckle) met when they were teenagers while Darby was staying with her grandmother for the summer. After being sheltered and taught how to be the "perfect daughter," Darby has never broken rules in her life. But now, Leo shows her that it's okay to experience life. They spend the summer together and fall for each other. They chase each other's shadows away. But, when Darby disappears and Leo never finds out why, they spend 10 years apart. After years apart, Leo shows up on Darby's wedding day and their past finally catches up to them.

Reading the dual timeline and seeing how they fell in love AND seeing how they spent 10 years apart and finally seeing each other was absolutely perfect. These characters were absolutely perfect and Sarah did a beautiful job of building out their stories. My heart was RACINGGG because I just couldn't wait to see what happened next. Please make sure to check the TW first!

One of the top reads of 2024 for sure!

tropes:

Y’all I went FERAL for this book. Leo and Darby were EVERYTHING. Heathen & Honeysuckle checked off sooo many of my must-have’s and favorite tropes:

I picked this up on a whim and I could not be happer.
First love, heart break, second chances.
This one has it all, characters you will really fall in love with and so much more.
I absolutely loved this book.

This was a 5 ⭐️ read for me. Darby and Leo are the perfect second chance couple, the

Ugh! Sarah did it again! The dual timeline is always a favorite of mine and I LOVE Darby and Leo.

There is so much growth for Darby in this book and Leo is nothing short of supportive throughout their lives. This writing was beautiful how she eventually bright both timelines to the same crossroads and you got nice closure.

The villains of this story make me feel true hatred toward them and the plot twist/surprise SHOOK me!

The only reason I brought it down .5 is because Leo is toooo perfect and only even says the right things and in the flashbacks he did not sound like an 18 y/o in his wisdom and speech but like a 30 year old.
