This is a favorite song of mine and this short is a version of what might happen after. Marilyn wants a baby. Her 17-years older than ger husband can’t give her one so she goes out nights to find someone who will.
Like the words of the song, Marilyn finds Decker on the side of the road in a storm and takes him to a hotel.
The way the scene between them was described, I thought he would be an incarnation of Poseidon or something, especially once the child was born and he was revealed to have an affinity with the sea.
The unexpected twists kept the plot moving and the reunion of biological father and child was nice to read.
