Part of the Sherlock Holmes series of stories and novels.

Sherlock's brother, Mycroft Holmes, needs help with the mysterious death of a government employee who was in possession of important government documents, three essential pages of which are missing.

I've always had a soft spot for Mycroft Holmes, a man more brilliant than his younger brother, but a man who prefered to help direct the British government from his office or his club rather than running about London. In this small tale, we can scent the approaching winds of war as everyone is scrambling to find the top-secret submarine plans. 3.5 out of 5.

I like this Sherlock mystery. There is this line-- "You can write me down an ass this time, Watson," said he. "This was not the bird that I was looking for." So you can imagine my excitement that I had correctly guessed whodunnit!

Audiobook listening of The Bruce-Partington Plans. Was interesting to meet Mycroft (again) after having read Horowitz's House of Silk. Again wonderful how these texts are so alike…

Mycroft's behaviour perplexes Holmes. Until he reveals that a murder has a link with the theft of some vital and secret submarine plans. It's up to Sherlock to find them. But with the government, the military and even his own brother turning up the pressure, can Sherlock unravel the web of secrets, spies and cunning crimes before it's too late?

Everything in the story comes together nicely. And the explanation about how the man was killed from the train is as Watson states "a masterpiece."
