This was very intricate and detailed and the clues were laid nicely. Some plot lines were unnecessary and some were glaringly obvious of what was to come. Some of the characters were not needed and some were very one dimensional. But, I overall enjoyed the mystery, the plot, and the characters!

I loved this debut novel by Amy Pease! Set in the north woods of Minnesota, Pease has crafted a tense thriller that keeps the reader guessing along with strong characters with their own struggles with trauma and addiction. With literary prose, Pease explores the opioid epidemic with compassion and empathy while creating characters you care about and root for! I can’t wait to read more from this author.
