I really enjoyed this book. I didn't understand some of it though. I didn't like how it swapped back and forth to the different couples. I like how in each book, the couple that hates each other always end up getting married or hooking up. I like how Vaughn and Naya are safe. I like how Sawyer and Kenzie are looking after each other.

I couldn’t put this book down!!! I read it in 4 hours. It was sooo good! I loved pretty much everything about it! From the different POV’s; point of views, and the ability to switch back and forth and not confuse the reader, the sex was off the wall crazy, the plot line itself was captivating, and it was just all around an amazing book! Read on for an in-depth review; as much as possible without spoilers!

Damien and Payton are a little bit like star crossed lovers. They really shouldn’t be together, there’s bad blood/history between their families, and there’s a shit storm brewing currently and they’re caught up in the middle. None of those things stop them from succumbing to the crazy chemistry between them especially when Mother Nature comes into play! Get ready for a wild ride! The multiple POV’s, the plot itself, and the characters will keep you on your toes. They aren’t the only couple who have something going on and I can’t wait to read about the other couples adventures! You pick right up where book 1 left off in terms of the “not really a cliffhanger” cliffhanger. You learn what happens next to one couple and get pulled deeper into another couple only to be left in another “not really a cliffhanger” cliffhanger. I’m sure we will find out more about what happened with them in their own book hopefully! There are new characters we are introduced to and some who we met before but they get a little more time to shine in this book. I loved the glimpses we got of them and I can’t wait for more!!! This was a really good book! I can’t wait to read book 3! I’m starting to regret not buying all of the books that are available when I had the chance; I only bought the first 3 books, because at the rate I’m reading these, I’ll be finished with book 3 tomorrow if life doesn’t get in my way. If that doesn’t tell you how good this series is then I don’t know what will! So good you’ll read them in one sitting and devour them in hours!

Damien's rescue of Payton changed things for the better in so many lives. Damien was so sweet in everything he did for Payton. Damien nearly lost his life and his love by not being fully honest with Payton. I really hope Isabelle and Zane get back together and we get to explore that relationship more. Sawyer and Kenzie were so close to being rescued if they had just waited for five more minutes instead of implementing their ingenious plan. Maybe being on the run will finally get Sawyer to trust and admit how he actually feels about Kenzie.

'I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.'

This one picks up where Forbidden Blood left off with the kidnapping of Sawyer & Kenzie (as a case of mistaken identity) and Damien rescuing Payton from her own kidnapping attempt. Once again we had WAY too many couples thrown at us. This time around as there is Payton & Damien – whose story this was, Sawyer & Kenzie, Zane & Isabella and Dante & Phoenix. And while enjoyed the story it wasn’t as good as the first one, mostly because I didn’t actually like any of the relationships other than Payton & Damien (and even that had bits that bugged me). One of the things I liked so much about book 1 was how equal and respectful the relationship was between Naya & Vaughn. Unfortunately that is lacking in all 3 of our secondary romances. Sawyer is such a dick to Kenzie I am seriously disturbed by the fact that they are going to be a couple and that Kenzie is attracted to someone so actively horrible to her. Ditto for the Isabella/Zane pairing where is basically her captor and in all four relationships a big deal is made of the whole dominant, controlling aspect of the guys which is a major turn off for me.

You will love this story!! I read book 1, then immediately went straight to book 2, then book 3, and now I'm reading an ARC of Forbidden Addiction and I will tell you that you WILL become as addicted to this series as I have!! I love the characters and how they all come together. How the world is written. R.L. Kenderson has given us a swoon-worthy world to dive into and we won't go back!!

Like book one the dissonance created by veering from accepted shifter-vampire mythology takes away from the enjoyment of the story. Additionally the jumping back and forth between three different couples was annoying as it interfered with the flow and continuity of the story arc.

Having said all that I liked these characters and I liked the story. Easy to figure out who the bad guy is. The ending is irritating as one would expect them all to be better prepared...just an unrealistic outcome that was obviously created to advance future books.

So even though all these irritations exist I’ll still be reading book three to get more closure on these characters.
