I love Bryce and this book. This book was sooooo close to being five stars but I wanted a bit more in the battle and after.

I tried so hard to stick with this one. The first book was so good and this one crosses over with my beloved ACOTAR. But listen. Listen to me. Sarah J Maas, are you listening? Your books do not need to be 800 pages long 😭 you do not need this

absolutely the weakest Sarah J. Maas finale, I didn't feel much for the characters, everything came too easily for Bryce and co and the generally the plot felt messy.

There are so many characters in this book (and series for that matter) that don't feel necessary, I honestly didn't care about Tharion's chapters at all. Bryce feels like a watered down and less believable version of Aelin and the chemistry with Hunt is just not there. I did like Lidia's arc and storyline, she was actually interesting. The ACOTAR crossover was a letdown imo, I wanted more than Bryce wandering a cave with just Nesta and Azriel. Also wanted some more easter egg moments with Aelin's world, like if it's going to be a multiverse give me more. The strongest section of this entire series is the ending of CC1 specifically because of Bryce and Danika's friendship. This book didn't make me feel much at all and that's the main thing I'm looking for with a Sarah J. Maas book.

Okay, it’s finally time. I finished hofas a few days ago but had to process the amount of emotions I felt during this book. Wow. Yet again SJM tore out my heart stopped on it and gave it back to me and I thanked her for doing so haha. I had whiplash reading this book, but in the best way possible. The character development for Lidia was a masterpiece. One of my absolute favorite characters now. Ruhn and Lidia’s relationship is beautiful. I love them so much. The world building and character development was such a perfect combination. I love how much is answered in this book along with adding so much depth. The amount of detail SJM puts into her books is incredible. The cross over between CC and ACOTAR was not what I expected, but still such a great touch to these books and the maasaverse! I’m so happy that I read TOG before reading this book. There were so many Easter eggs and little ties I was able to connect. Especially with Lidia and her lineage! Absolutely INSANE! I also had so so many theories of Hunt and his background and so happy we finally got some answers! I had a suspicion that he was related to Hel is some way and it makes so much sense that he does! Bryce is my other half I swear. She is such a badass as always. Her character development is my favorite. I wish there was more time for her to bond with the ACOTAR characters though! Either way. I loved this book!
