Love life’s a mess.. but I don’t care, the highlight of this book is Julian and Daisy’s sibling relationship.

Hot take #1: Julian’s last chapter was so out of character. Yes, I’ll defend him.

Hot take #2: I liked Rome and Daisy’s deep connection, that innate familiarity drawing them together. A love reminiscent of a childhood home. But they were right for each other once, until it was overshadowed by the traumas they faced.

Hot take #3: I feel like there isn’t enough emotional build-up in Christian & Daisy’s relationship yet, so it doesn’t feel as consuming as I wanted it to be. (Compared to BJ & Magnolia’s)

Hot take #4: Julian & Daisy’s falling out *i sobbed* hurt more than Christian & Daisy’s split.

Favorite quotes ♡

“I would have slipped away and left it all behind, because that really is the dream—but it’s not true. I do need Julian. He’s not just my brother, he’s not just my best friend, he’s my father and my protector and my family and my home—and Romeo meant the world to me, but my brother meant the universe.” –Daisy

“I know me and her have a weird relationship, somewhere between my sister, my kid, and my best friend. She might be all of the above, but of all the things she is to me she is absolutely and irrevocably my way home.” –Julian

“If you keep pushing someone away, eventually they’ll stay there.”
