YA mystery, with all of the flaws that you can sometimes find in YA mysteries
Characters keeping secrets from authority figures for no reason whatsoever
Side plots that are not over hyped and under explained
Secrets that are given significantly more weight than they deserve
Adults with entirely unrealistic motivations
Obvious “clues” that only the main characters can discover
Poor writing, bad dialogue, etc etc
I would have DNF this, but I hate doing that with mysteries
