Wow! What an amazing story of love & forgiveness. There is so much more to this book than you get from the blurb, and it really resonated with me. There were so many personal connections I was able to make with this book, and it made it even easier for me to love Eli, Cody & their friends and family. The book was extremely well written with characters you fall in love with immediately. I read the entire book in one sitting and didn't want to say goodbye, even when I finished it. An amazing book for Felice Stevens, and I'm honored to have had the chance to read an ARC copy.

4 stars for the story -B
4 stars for narration by Kale Williams -B

I enjoyed this very solid romance by Felice Stevens. Eli was an unusual protagonist in that he was, at 30, coming to grips with who he really was and learning to accept and act on it. Coby was also well drawn. After being left by his boyfriend of a year, he is hurt, insecure, and tired of being second best. Coby reads as demisexual, in that he wants and needs a connection to be comfortable with sex. One night stands aren't for him. Eli is new to all this and wants to take things slow as well. After they meet via a dating app, they hit it off and carefully start to get to know each other.

The couple doesn't meet until about 30% of the way through the book, but I loved that we got such a good set up, getting to know the important players in each of their lives, plus the obstacles they face. It was very well done and made the whole story flow smoothly, without having to break up the emotional times with backstory. There is some family drama, but it didn't produce a lot of angst because the way it was dealt with. Due to this family drama, though, I didn't find what happened in the epilogue very convincing, and in fact it felt a little saccharine. That had me lowing the grade just a bit.

Kale Williams does a great job and I enjoy listening to him. A few times during conversations I had to depend on dialog tags to know who was talking, but usually Williams did a good job with distinct character voices. He does a fine job with women's voices, even Coby's elderly aunt.
