I'm a sucker for memoirs and anything Bill Gates writes so I was excited to read this one! It was cool to get a glimpse into Bill's early days and how his family and childhood experiences shaped his later career. If you liked this, I'd recommend listening to the Microsoft episode of Acquired as well.

Can't forget what Gami said "Let your work be so correct that in no way can it be construed as improper. You’re a great young man—I’m for you and I love you. See you soon, Gami"
This book made me appreciate my family more and made me think this moment is not gonna last.

This book was a big surprise. I had expected something along the lines of Steve Jobs biography. This one was interesting from the beginning where Gates reflected on his childhood, family, classmates and friends - but he did this with his current maturity and reflection on a very complex person on the spectrum growing up. He was fortunate that his parents gave him lots of support, direction and opportunities to develop his interests. He ended up at a private school, atypical of his classmates, but he made the most of what opportunities he had available and his own motivation to push the boundaries. He reflected on key friends and acquaintances on his path to eventually found Microsoft and getting the business off to a solid start. This is a must read for anyone interested in the early development of the desktop computer and key individual who catalyzed the developments to move quickly.
