I wanted so badly to love this but it drug on entirely too long. Might pick it up later but right now it's putting me in a reading slump.

I found the weirdness very, maybe the word would be, endearing!! but I think I was in the wrong reading headspace/vibe to enjoy this as much as I wanted to :/

This is so insane and fantastic I love it but it isn’t exactly my sort of storytelling

This book did not turn out to be what I thought it would be. The first few chapters intrigued me. I was very interested in the story of Jonathan and the mysterious mansion. Unfortunately they fairly quickly left the mansion behind for a complex magical world. Although marketed as Young Adult, I don’t think this book would appeal to most teenagers.
