Fall of the Horizon is a beautiful high fantasy that includes many favorite fantasy tropes in a setting unlike any I've read before.

I fell head over heels for these characters immediately upon their introductions. Zara, Daria, Ronan, Ares, and all of their companions create a balanced, well-thought-out cast that bring out the fierceness and heart in one another. Whether they're family, enemies, allies, or some combination of the three. Readers are treated with a stunning main cast supported (without being inundated) by side/background characters. I felt perfectly plopped right into their dynamics and I never wanted to leave.

The world-building is creative and stunning without being overwhelming. We're talking about gods, ancient beings of great power, wars, multiple kingdoms and rulers, various families, laws and cultures and great spans of time. Yet the author walks you through it with just the right amount of emotion with the history to make it all come together. The world is inspired by various cultures around the world and it all coalesces into a unique, vivid, and magical atmosphere.

There's action, plot, character depth, emotion, and everything I wanted and needed in a new fantasy series. The setup for book 2 is incredible; book 1 isn't even out yet and I'm already aching for book 2!!

I saw this cover and immediately put my name on the ARC request form. Then I read the blurb and knew I'd made an excellent decision. And then I read the book, and I found a top read of the month!

**Thank you SO MUCH to Jessica J Ayala for an ARC of Fall of the Horizon and an opportunity to leave my honest, voluntary review!**
