Cavo is the Sweetest, I feel so bad for him I suppose Liam really is a beast.
I have to admit that one of my favorite parts of queer media is watching the unique ways queer authors and artists reinterpret the stories we’ve been raised to know as the pinnacle of straightness. The princess in the woods, rescued by the prince from the monster about to steal her away. All of these archetypes have been told to us over and over again in a heteronormative fashion that we can recite them from heart. But taking that story and turning hit upside down with a bit of queerness and unpredictability? That's really my cup of tea and I will happily devour whatever I can find.

Well- I don’t think Liam deserves Cavo. But I’m interested to see where it goes.
Maybe a 2.5. *sigh* I'm not sure how I feel. Cavo is adorable but the plot so far... ehh
Have you ever thought "Man, I wish there was a manga about a middle-aged pansexual thirst-trap and an anthropomorphic demon falling in lust and love respectively" then this is the weirdly specific book for you!
Liam's nearly insatiable lust was a little off putting at first as "horny" seemed to be his one character trait, but as this volume and the next developed we get more from him so it stopped bothering me.
Cavo is precious in a Quasimodo "Out There" sort of way that I always enjoy and kind of reminded me of Elias from Ancient Magus Bride as they both are emotional noobs.

I don't read many mangas so I can't really compare with much but I really enjoyed the drawings and the atmosphere. I also like how the Monster is sweet and Liam is ... Not. But I enjoy asshole MCs, so there's that ;)
The dialogue was a bit stilted at first but it felt like it got better and more dynamic as the book went on :)
Just finished and already ordered 2 and 3, hoping we'll get more info about Liam and who ( or what ! ) he is :)

What I’d always needed
I didn’t know this was something I needed in my life, I’m glad Renji knew for me. Cavo deserves the world.

This is the start of what I'm sure will be a favorite for me. I like the characters because they are flawed and I like the world that's being built. I am excited to see the plot really get started because it does drag just a tiny bit. Still, really enjoyed it!
