Middle-aged Liam is in a bit of a pickle in the middle of the forest. Demon Cavo comes to the rescue and saves Liam. But did Liam actually need to be saved? Liam is a beautiful gentleman. Well spoken and very sure of himself. Cavo on the other hand is a big burly demon that has never met anyone like Liam before.

And so Liam shows Cavo kindness for the first time in his life. This sudden offering of affection and physical touch changes something in Cavo. And after leading Liam safely through the forest they must say their goodbyes, but Cavo doesn't want to leave him.

The Monster and the Beast is a short but sweet story. Nothing raunchy happens in the first book and the story left me longing for more to see how this unfolds. So i will be buying the other volumes.

There’s a lot to Monster and the Beast that isn’t what it seems on the tin; for starters, two of my trigger warnings could probably best be seen as implications rather than actual content - but that’s the purpose of a trigger warning.

The actual content of this book is interesting - this one was recommended to me by the TikTok algorithm likely because I had previously expressed interest in MADK and this book is similar (monster/human romance) and very different (literally every other way). For starters, while Liam is a ho and tries his best to earn that explicit sticker on the book, this book isn’t all that sexually explicit. Liam is definitely going for it, but probably because big monster boy is actually a scared softy, even the implication of sex ends in his horror.

Overall, if you’re interested in the genre, I’d say it’s a worthwhile read but it doesn’t do anything overtly novel.

I literally just saw the cover for this on story graph as part of my recommendations list and immediately decided to read and I love this so much , I love Kavo so much , he is so emotionally intelligent for a demon that stayed without proper human contact for so many years . I’m angry at Liam because he was the one that was all about finding a partner and everything now that he has one he is all like pushing him away but Kavo would be good for him , help him finally settle down and calm down on his over sexuality which I know isn’t exactly a bad thing but I feel like it stems from something in his past that o can’t wait to find out about as well as why he is being tracked down . Literally going to dive into volume 2 right now

Ooookay… the short version is; beast is adorable and naive and the “monster” is a slut. A respectful one but still a slut. (Not shame!)

Read all four volumes and - it’s cute.

If you want a critique or an indepth review - I’m not gonna do it.
