This is my favorite new manga of 2019, and I know I'm probably one of the few that think so. This story follows a playboy man and a beast he meets in the woods. What starts as an unlikely alliance quickly turns to more. This manga was so sweet, I loved the interactions with the characters. If you like BL and something different, this Beauty and the Beast retelling is for you.

It’s like if you had a combination of Hannibal Lecter, the show and beauty and the beast and it’s amazing amazing and I am enjoying it. I really need to read the rest of the series cause it’s just interesting.

This is super cute. I think I'll enjoy reading the rest of these. Just enough intrigue to keep me interested.

Doing a reread of this series since volume 4 is finally out, and it’s been three years since I originally read the first three volumes.

I really love this series because of how different it is. I’m kind of picky about my BL manga and I like something that’ll leave an impression, and a middle-aged bisexual man and his monster companion is about as memorable as you can get!

Cavo is very sweet, completely not used to a human who isn’t afraid of him (and is actively trying to seduce him), and slowly realizing that he has feelings for Liam. Then there’s the hints that Liam isn’t just an ordinary man.

Excellent first volume had me buying the second volume immediately!

We meet Liam as he's being attacked by some men in the woods, and Cavo comes and saves him. But we quickly discover that Liam had agreed on a trip with those men and now doesn't know which way is out, and that he's familiar with using his body to get what he wants and to get affection.
I was intrigued at the first idea of a Beauty and the Beast take with a gay relationship. I'm a little disappointed with how this pans out, though.
Liam is definitely the monster of the relationship, despite being a handsome gentlemen. Cavo is a “terrifying creature”, and yet he's gentle and sweet, and simply wants to stay by Liam's side. How Liam treats Cavo with so much uncare, and even disdain at times, really puts me off. He seems to humor Cavo at times to let him come along with him, but he doesn't act with any real kindness or affection toward him.
The ending makes me think there'll be a little twist thrown in next, but I don't know if I'm all that interested. I liked Cavo enough, but I really didn't like Liam, and I didn't really get the chemistry between them, either.

Been wanting to read this one for a while.
Had bought a lot of manga digitally on my kobo during quarantine. An had to add this one to the list. :) Did my best reading it while on my way back home on the bus, had someone sitting next to me. So I had to be a ninja if certain moments happened. ^_^;

You know what? Call me nuts, but I loved this!

For once, we have a role reversal in Yaoi - the human is the seducer, the player, the unapologetically sexual creature, and the beast is the gentle one, the one who has limits and is shy. But, at the same time, Liam makes it *very* clear that he has no interest in anything permanent, that he enjoys his life of wandering and sleeping with anyone who takes his fancy.

Sure, there is a slight fetish aspect, with Liam's attraction to a somewhat animalistic beast/demon, but this is Yaoi. I've seen WAY worse than this going on.

I loved that not everything was always as it seemed. That the art/illustrations were stunning in a simplistic way, that Liam is not your high-school student MC like in most Yaoi, and that the beast isn't always a passive creature who just does as he's told. Once he finds the incentive to do something, he doesn't hesitate.

The ending was slightly abrupt, leaving on a cliffhanger, but I liked that. There was already quite a lot of story to digest, so I liked knowing immediately that there was more to come. I'll be looking up Vol 2 right away.
