I decided I wanted to read this book after I got a comment that my church talk seemed to parallel a lot of Marcus Aurelius's philosophies. That made me curious, and so I picked up this book. And I did see how one could find our ideas similar, so that was fun!

But as for enjoyment, reading ancient philosophy isn't what I'd usually pick up.

My first book on stoic philosophy and was very informative and helpful with my mental health. A calming and challenging book.

Considering that the guy prizes reason incredibly highly, he avoids reasoning almost like the plague and goes for thesis bombardment instead. This might have been a useful diary - though I doubt it - but trying to read it is torture.
