Not my favorite.

This whole series was building to a climax and when it finally came I was exhausted. The whole book is the final war and it just keeps going on and on. A pig, a dragon, etc.

I didn’t really understand Luke’s reasoning at the end. For a character to sacrifice everything for the whole series and then in the last two second to have an entire change of heart was sweet, but didn’t seem likely.

I also don’t know how to feel about Rachel, Annabeth, and Percy. That was odd.

The series was fun, and I kinda wanna see where the next ones go since I hear they are more mature, but I’ll probably hold off for a bit.

i remember why i made this series my entire personality as a child. as a whole, the percy jackson series has genuinely impacted my life in so many ways, i am 100% certain i would not be the same person or have the same love for literature and writing if i had not had these books when i was younger. as i read it again, i'm reminded of just how good it is. i enjoyed every last bit of these books, and although there are a lot of flaws that i can think of, i will always, always speak so incredibly highly of this series.

as a book in of itself, i loved the last olympian. the entire book is filled with action, and although it has a more serious tone than any of the others, it doesn't lose that voice that you fall in love with in the beginning of the series. percy's still percy, no matter how jaded he's become. i love how riordon weaves so many bits from the previous books in, especially the beginning fates snip from the lightning thief (will always be one of my favorite moments). while i will forever and always despise luke, i really do enjoy his character arc and seeing what he does in the end (minus. the ew part.) i adore how this book makes children feel seen. it puts such an importance and emphasis on honoring those who are outcasts and helping people, everyone, feel included. that's such a major theme throughout the novels and it's one that i think is incredible impactful to it's younger audience. i cannot WAIT for the television series coming out, and rereading the entire series has seriously reignited my love for the riordonverse. expect me rereading every single one of his works coming soon <3 (gotta prepare for the new pjo book AND the solangelo book come on)
