I loved GEORGIE, ALL ALONG so I was excited to see another book by Kate Clayborn. I went into this one blind which was probably a good thing. I’m not sure if I would have picked it up had I read the synopsis first. I don’t know what it is about podcasts (especially true crime) that turns me off since I don’t even listen to them, but it leads me to generally not love books with a heavy focus on them. When I started reading THE OTHER SIDE OF DISAPPEARING and got a feel for the premise, I was very unsure if it would be a good fit for me and considered DNFing. I had mixed feelings for quite a while but eventually came to enjoy it and am glad that I stuck with it. I liked the dynamic between the sisters. The romance was a bit too insta-love for my liking. The characters were well-developed overall. This was not my favorite Kate Clayborn book, but still a good read.

Absorbing story of two sisters, abandoned by their mother, agreeing to a podcast about her disappearance with a con man previously featured on the podcast. Jess has been protecting and raising Tegan since her mom left, but when Tegan appeals to a podcast host to uncover the truth, their journey begins. Along with her podcast assistant Adam, the prying begins as Salem digs deep to find the truth. The relationship between the sisters, and between Jess and Adam, gives depth to the story. Recommended. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
