To be fair I didn’t look at the summary before starting this. However, I’m not really feeling the unsolved mysteries, true crime podcast vibes.

DNF at 30%. I could not get into the plot. I am not a true crime fan, so that was not a match for me. I love all the rest of Kate Clayborn’s books.

It’s kind of like they just happened to be on a cross-country roadtrip to find their mom and a con man rather than it actually being the main plot.
This just read so slow to me, and I didn’t feel connected to any of the characters. And I need these insta-love plots to stop.

I was really excited for this book once I realized it was the same author of "Georgie, all along". I REALLY enjoyed that novel, but this one fell flat for me. I think in general; I enjoyed it. But I had a hard time connecting with Jess and understanding her emotions. I got where they were coming from, but the writing just didn't make it REAL for me. Due to this, at times I was lost about the dynamics between her and Adam. I found myself saying "I don't see the problem here, what are you two talking about?"
I also expected more fleshing out of the story about their mom. That was the whole secondary story of the book and then it was kind of anticlimactic.
In the end, I'm not upset I read it, but not sure I'm recommending it to anyone.
