For me, the book was the best aged wine I’ve ever tasted.
The immense emotions set with the writer and each and everyone involved in the story, these penned stories are a reality for all those who actually lived years ago…
It all started with a romance between the author and the bookseller… though the second part with the journal sounds boring the first half is really interesting and we are invited to have a peek at what happened.

Before I read this, I hadn’t realized these were real letters between real people (I had always thought it was fiction). The book was enjoyable and definitely painted a vivid pictures of life in the 1945-1965 in London and England. While I’m glad to have read it, I think this is one of those books that would have been better read before it became a more popular fiction writing style.
