Very interesting that this is the start of a trilogy within a series. It's my first time reading the series all the way through so my opinion on this arc remains to be seen

This book has a good mix of action and a fast pace as well as exciting new things for the series. It was a quick and enjoyable read.

Who is this kid??? The constant refrain of this book. Solid misogyny and light racism moments from Marco, shout out to the 90s! Interesting implications for the team dynamics whether David stays or leaves, looking forward to the next two!

I’m being told “the David trilogy” is Animorphs at its finest. Off to a good start but the ending is more than just a cliffhanger, it literally feel like the book was chopped off at a certain word count and split into the next volume.

Pro: short and easy to read bite-sized chapters
Con: annoying narrator

(What’s the deal with David’s dad? Do we find out in the next two books?)
